The Boys Club

Okay, so it's not really a club. It's a group of moms that let their kids burn energy together, but I love it. In the summers we break out slip n slides and bring picnic food and hang outside until nap time. In the winter we dump coats, hats and shoes by the front door and eat a yummy lunch while kids run crazy. It's so laid back and easy. Don't you love easy?! Come if you can, we'll miss you if you don't.

This year one of the moms hosted a gingerbread house decorating party. It was such a blast. Declan scooped frosting in his mouth with tootsie rolls and I snapped pictures and helped salvage his ugly house by adding a Trix border. The boys had a blast and Decs napped 3 hours even though he was hopped up on sugar. Score!

The "big boy" bed

Our sweet, rambunctious, active, busy, active son is growing out of his crib! He's nearly as long as the crib now that he sleeps with a pillow and he tosses and turns constantly (to the point the mattress- a very pricey mattress at that- is now sunk down in the middle. We aren't ready to trust his busy body to stay in a big boy bed but we're very tempted to order this:

It fits a twin bed. It's a touch spendy ($139.) but it could solve our problem as far as Declan needing to move up in bed size. Hmm. What to do, what to do? I don't even know what age we'll feel comfortable trusting him with free reign of his room but not anytime soon. Blogland, what do you think?

Crib time, how I love thee.

Declan loves his crib time too. He colors on his magna.doodle, reads, plays a little music, sings. 

This said "crib time" is about 20 minutes in the morning after breakfast and a little play. I shower and quickly get ready. It's wonderful. Today, Declan had no interest in leaving his crib once I came to get him. I snapped this picture with my phone, so forgive the quality:

Once the tented crib is gone, what will I do? Set my alarm and get up before he does? Hmpf. No thanks. :)
