I'm surround by friends with early talkers. Declan has babbled a bit and said "daddy", "doggie" and a couple other little words for months. Just this weekend, he has a brand new vocabulary. We had the "language explosion" so many have told me about (so I don't worry). Well, now our lives will never be the same because Decs does.not.stop.talking now. I'm loving it!! His new words/phrases these last few days:
All Done!
Nana
Papa
Where'd it go?
More, More
Shoe
Night, Night
Whoa
Hi
Twinkle, Twinkle (he "sings" this song but it's barely recognizable)
Tickle, Tickle

So cute! I love seeing these little lists because the words kids learn first tell you so much about their lives. I love "Whoa" and "Tickle, Tickle" :)
Jeb was the same way. I don't think he really said his first word until 18 months, and the explosion didn't happen until 19 months. My friends' kids were reading Charles Dickens at 13 months, it felt like, and my kid was still only doing the high pitched "Eh! Eh! Eh!" which meant anything and everything.
Congrats on having a talker!
I love it! It's amazing how one day they aren't doing something and the next day they ARE. This weekend I said, "Ty, give mama kisses" as I always do, and leaned in for a smooch, except this time, he leaned in and gave me a big, wet open mouth kiss! I wanted to cry. Later, that same day, someone else was holding him and he reached out to me, for the first time. That one DID make me cry! :)
I LOVE it, congrats on your little talking man!!

That' so cute! I've never heard of the language explosion. Good to know!
Love it! Colin has started talking a lot now too...mostly the same words as Declan. His little words melt my heart :)

So cute! I keep waiting for the explosion to hit here as well. I'm glad to know that it really does happen!
