No one warned us...

So Mark and I were sitting in our living room watching football the other day. We heard Declan cry super loud and looked over towards the nursery. Then we glanced towards the monitor...NOTHING. It wasn't him. No one told us that, as young and tired delirious new parents, that you hear what you think is your child crying constantly. Tonight I was laying down in the bedroom (after a very long day of Declan refusing to nap over 20 minutes...makes for a frustrated and tired mommy) and I hear Declan wailing in the living room. I stumble out half awake to see if Mark needs my help and I find Declan zonked on his daddy's chest. So when do the voices, I mean crying, stop? Will we forever hear a crying child? Please remember I slept a total of 3 hours last night/today when reading this post. ;)

oh wow, I totally forgot about the voices, but it was so true! You hear them so much during the day, you dream about them, and hear them when you're awake (or, rather, half-awake).

I think they go away once you are s leeping well throughout the night, BUT I will sometimes hear a Lukka noise and just have to check on him...probably about once a week!

I wil still sometimes wake up thinking I am hearing my little girl screaming only to find it was all in my head (she is almost 1.5 years old). Now mind you we don't have a monitor anymore so I really have to rely on my own ears....

Oh Ashley, you are so precious!!! You are feeling such a huge responsibility right now. God has given you that amazing "sense" that only a mom has. It is a blessing and sometimes a curse! I can tell you that all of my children are grown up now and I hadn't heard those "noises" for many years--then the grandbaby came along, and guess what???? I heard those cries from several miles away for the first few months of his life!!! Wierd, huh? It is a mother's intuition and YOU have it!!!!!! What an awesome gift. Bless you--things will get better, I promise.

Don't worry, you will sleep again...someday. But I still hear the crying and Ryno is 15 months old! :) haha...just be thankful it doesn't make you leak uncontrolably in a public place when you actually do hear a baby crying and it's not your own!
